Our end-of-year Calderdale celebration

We recently gathered at our Halifax office on Commercial Street to mark the end of the year with our Calderdale celebration event. Colleagues from our Open Minds (CAMHS), Mental Health Support Team (MHST), First Point of Contact, and Central Service teams came together to reflect on achievements, and look ahead to what next year may bring.

Team members took time to reflect on how well we’ve settled into our new office, enabling us to welcome partners into our space, as well delivering impactful mental health services.

Recognising our achievements

The event was a perfect opportunity to recognise the incredible dedication and hard work our teams have shown throughout the year. We celebrated colleagues’ commitment to delivering the best possible service to children, young people, and families, as well as acknowledging our readiness to face the future with confidence and enthusiasm.

Setting our sights on next year, we submitted a time machine pledge. We took a moment to consider what we’re looking forward to celebrating in 2025, reflecting the collective vision and aspirations of each team. Key themes included partnership collaboration, maintaining outstanding mental health services, learning and development, digital innovations, and team growth.

Spotlighting impactful work

During the celebration, we heard inspiring updates on the outstanding work happening across our teams. From online parent workshops to piloting an innovative programme in schools around Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA), our efforts are driving meaningful change across Calderdale.

We’re incredibly proud to have achieved some significant outcomes this year. Our Open Minds (CAMHS), service processed over 4,000 referrals, and provided support to over 1,000 young people, and their families.

Our Schools Wellbeing Support Team delivered 99 consultations to schools, facilitating 212 training sessions which engaged over 3,800 participants. Operating across 49 school settings, our MHST delivered one-to-one interventions to 640 children and young people, engaging in over 12,000 support interactions.

Heading into 2025, our collective pledges and vision for delivering the best possible experience of mental health services will continue to lead the way. We’ll be heading into the new year championing innovation, collaboration, and impact.
