District 29 Therapeutic Community

Free group therapy for 16-25s with difficult life experiences

What we do

We’re a therapeutic community for young people likely to have experienced difficult life events or trauma.

We offer two groups, for 16-18s and over-18s – a safe and supportive environment where you can:

  • Take an active role in running the group and its activities
  • Talk and share your difficulties and feelings with others
  • Learn from each other’s experiences and solve problems together

The groups are held at Northpoint, Leeds Bridge House, near Leeds city centre.

Who for

Young people aged 16-25, probably with a background of difficult life experiences or trauma, and having difficulties such as:

  • Forming and maintaining relationships
  • Self-harm (this can mean different things)
  • Being impulsive and having intense mood swings
  • Often feeling empty or disconnected from the world

How to refer

Please refer yourself, or refer a young person, using one of our online forms below. If you’d like someone else to do your referral, ask your GP or mental health worker to help.

Then we’ll contact you to talk about your needs. And we’ll invite you to meet the group at least twice before deciding whether you’d like to join us.
