Duncan Pearse

Chief Executive Officer

My vision is for us to provide the very best, most appropriate, mental health support to the people who come to us for help. We have great foundations and will build on them to make sure this happens. I work closely with our board of trustees and senior management team to bring this vision to life.

Experience of mental illness in my own family means the expertise and dedication we have at Northpoint also has personal significance.

Adam Calvert

Chief Finance Officer

With my expertise and experience in financial services and accountancy, I look after all things finance for Northpoint. This includes modelling income and costs on potential new contracts, budgeting and management reporting. Being as cost-effective as we can allows us to deliver more high-quality services.

In my spare time I see clients as a psychotherapist, so I know the value of therapy and counselling.

Hazel Burleigh

Director of Adult Services

My background is in mental health, and I'm trained in TA psychotherapy.

Working at Northpoint means I can bring my management skills and therapy roots together, supporting our managers and practitioners to deliver services that are high quality and based on what we know works.

I'm also passionate about raising awareness around dyslexia and the menopause.

Helen McGlinchey

Director of Children and Young People Services

I've been with Northpoint since 2006 and have seen the organisation grow considerably. I think this is due to us focusing exclusively on mental health and developing innovative new services. I hold senior operational and strategic responsibility for all our Schools services, as well as being their clinical lead.

I really value how client-centred, responsive and supportive our staff are in their work with children, families and schools.

Mandy Bowers

Director of People and Culture

I'm responsible for all things people, making us a different place to work - different in a good way! I bring many years of experience in HR to Northpoint. Since joining, I have been blown away by the level of commitment and energy from everyone I meet.

I'm also a school governor and have seen first-hand how important children’s mental health is, especially since Covid-19.

Our trustees

We're overseen by a board of trustees who bring a wealth of knowledge, skills and experience to help steer the organisation.

Jane Williams

Chair of the Board

Jane has worked in and around mental health services in Leeds since 1988 as a qualified counsellor, trainer, consultant and the NHS adult mental health commissioner. Committed to supporting the continuing development of psychological and emotional support services, she became Chair of the Board in July 2021. Jane is also a founding member of Headingley Development Trust (HDT) and on the board of the Headingley Greengrocer.

Guy Millichamp


Guy is an experienced finance executive who has worked in non-profit sectors for over 30 years. He is currently the director of finance and resources at Connect Housing, a social landlord providing homes and services across West Yorkshire. He’s the voluntary treasurer for Northpoint, having held similar posts elsewhere, making sure that the organisation remains financially successful but also delivers on the shared purpose.

Caroline Dada

Caroline is a qualified pharmacist with over 25 years’ experience. She has worked across all health care specialisms within the NHS and also within the private sector. Now working for West Yorkshire Association of Acute Trusts (WYAAT), she is the programme manager for elective care. She is passionate about ensuring health and wellbeing services meet the needs of all local communities.

Fi Grossick

Fi is a registered nurse, with 30 years’ experience. She currently works for NHS England and NHS Improvement as a national clinical quality lead for health and justice. She joined the board in 2018 and is a member of the remuneration committee. She is passionate about the importance of people’s health and wellbeing, understanding the impact that mental health problems can have on an individual’s wellbeing.

Pete Ball

Pete joined the Northpoint board in 2020. He is a qualified chartered accountant and has over 20 years’ experience working in internal audit, risk management, compliance and internal controls roles for a variety of consultancies and blue-chip organisations. He is currently the group head of internal audit, risk management and compliance in Europe’s largest empty property security provider.

Clare Humphries

Clare worked within the NHS for 38 years, most recently as a senior manager commissioning services for children and young people. She was also chair of governors in a local primary school. Having always had an interest in promoting good mental health, she chose Northpoint to help make sure that services are well provided and developed for the next generation.

Leonie Hilliard

Leonie first qualified as a psychodynamic counsellor in 1998. Since then she has worked in private practice, the third sector and the NHS as a psychotherapist and supervisor. She currently works as a training group analyst and is also the co-director of the Institute of Group Analysis Diploma in Supervision. She brings a thorough understanding of the role and needs of practitioner and client to her understanding of Northpoint’s work.

Phil Chatterton

A digital leader, Phil brings experience in public, private and utility sector transformation. His specialist interest at Northpoint is in digital and GDPR. Despite his technology background, Phil started his career as a mental health worker before working with children, community care and NHS integration.

Sian Evans

Sian has over 30 years’ experience of providing people leadership to sectors including, retail, professional services, manufacturing, construction and the charitable sector. Sian’s current role is Director of People & Culture at StepChange debt charity, and is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

Sian has experienced the need to pay privately for counselling sessions to ensure timely access, and is committed to making support accessible for all.
